Pre-booking of handsets is nothing new here in India. The trend started with Apple opening up the pre-booking for the iPhone 3G and then many pre-bookings from different mobile phone companies followed that also includes Nokia. Pre-bookings are opened for those handsets, which generally are hyped up by the company and the users are eagerly waiting for them. This time Nokia has opened up the pre-booking of its first E-Series phone with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the E75. E75 was launched by Nokia @ the Mobile World Congress 2009. Nokia has also improved it email client with this phone to handle HTML and also edit office documents, so kind of a Blackberry killer. E75 is a Quad band GSM phone with dual band HSDPA @ 3.6 mbps. The phone features a 3.2 mega pixel snapper without LED flash and a 2.4 inch QVGA screen with a resolution of 240 x 360. Other features of the phone include, multimedia support with video recording at 30fps in QVGA quality, A-GPS, FM Radio, Wi-Fi and 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone has a dual home screen so that you separate your work and personal life and when it comes to memory cards, the phone supports microSDHC cards and has a microUSB socket. Now the good part is that this phone will be launched around March 13th 2009 and will be priced around 389.99, which comes to around INR 28,000.

In what seems to have become a weekly occurrence, OS 4.7.0.114 has been leaked for the BlackBerry Storm 9500 and 9530 (Verizon version). Though it may not materialize as an official software update, is is worth considering - at your own risk, of course. Updates include new copy and paste functionality, full QWERTY keyboard in portrait mode, a change from “Enter” key to “Go” key when browsing the web, and improvements in regards to accelerometer speed.
