BSNL has introduced sheap offers for students in India so that they can remain in touch with each other through calls and SMS at cheaper rates. The company has introduced, schemes like “Value for Money” for the Student population, which comprise Student power pack, which has a SIM activation charge of INR 249 and once your SIM is activated you get a talk time of INR 60. Students can also send 2000 free SMS for 365 days. I guess this SMS thingy will appeal a lot to students. which are slowly turning into a thumb tribe, thanks to testing on mobile phones. BSNL has also announced that the Intra-circle call rates have also been cut down to INR 0.49. For more information, users need to send “mstudent” SMS to 53733.

Motorola announces the Clutch i465
We reported on it when it passed through the FCC offices, and now the device has been officially announced by Motorola.  Referred to as the ‘Clutch,’ it meets military specifications for solar radiation, shock, vibration, and dust.  Geared for messaging, the phone offers a 3 megapixel camera, full QWERTY keyboard, 2.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 1.2, and a 1,130 mAh battery.  Reports have the i465 landing on Boost Mobile.  Pricing and availability have not been announced as of yet.  Via Motorola
