S6700_Samsung.jpgS6700 and C5510 are the two latest slider models from Samsung that have surfaced on the web. Both these sliders are mid-range mobile devices. The S6700 looks a lot like the Samsung S7350 and boasts of a 2.4 inch TFT screen with 16 million colors, 3.2 mega pixels snapper, FM with RDS support, Bluetooth 2.1, 120MB internal memory, QUAD Band GSM, HSDPA and support for microSDHC cards.

The world can always use another Windows Mobile messaging phone, right?  Hot off the heels of the Samsung Jack release, LG is ponying up with a device of their own: the LG HQ GW600.  Sporting a 20-key SureType keyboard very similar to the BlackBerry Pearl series, the phone offers Windows Mobile 6.1, 3G connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera, microSD card slot with support for up to 16 GB, and a 320×240 display.

The Memorial Day phone fun continues with three new Nokia handsets, apparently destined to AT&T at some point in the future.  Out of the four devices, dubbed “Grouper,” “Mako,” “Snapper,” and “Thresher,” several of them take on completely new designs for the manufacturer.  The Mako, for example, offers a sliding form factor with a full QWERTY keyboard, 2.4-inch QVGA display, A-GPS, 2 megapixel camera, Video Share, and 128 MB of internal memory.  Despite its small size, it features S60 (3.2) just like the E71.  According to the team at Engadget Mobile, the phone was targeted for a June 5th release, but they’re betting that it will be pushed back due to the lack of news surrounding it.

It’s a developer’s version right now, but the Trimble Nomad with Android is available at two price points: $1274 and $2249. That’s a hefty chunk of change, but as owners of a Panasonic Toughbook will tell you, that’s a reasonable price for the comfort of knowing that your data and equipment are secure in a harsh environment.
