Nokia wont be happy with what teenagers from 30 countries think about Nokia phones. Habbo Hotel, which is a teenage hang out joint did a survey of 112,000 teenagers in 30 countries to know whats their cell phone brand and only 21% have said Nokia. This number is down by 29% as compared to last year. While this may be surprising as targeting the youth was always an integral part of Nokia’s strategy. Now here comes the best part of this survey (I have never heard the name though), according to Reuters this survey did not take into account emerging markets like India and China, where Nokia is a clear leader and the preferred brand of mobile phone. Thats a big left out but then Nokia has to take into account its diminishing popularity in these 30 countries where teems don’t take Nokia as “THEIR” brand. Young users have always been important to Nokia as they drive a trend and this time Nokia has to make sure that, they don’t loose out on this one.

INQ, the guys who won the Best Mobile Phone Award at the Mobile World Congress 2009 held in Barcelona, have announced that they are working toward getting our a Twitter phone this coming Christmas. Twitter, as well all know, is a popular micro blogging service that is growing be leaps and bounds. Twitter started as a status update service where you can tell your friends what you are up to but slowly got into the world of micro blogging and there is no looking back for Twitter and Twitteratis (Twitter Users). The INQ Twitter phone will be targeted toward the mass market and will be available at a price point of $140. The phone will come with an in-built Internet based Twitter client. INQ is the subsidiary of Hutchison-Whampoa and also gave us the Skype phone. Right now there are lots of Twitter applications that are available, which you can download on your mobile phone and use it for Tweeting. But with this new INQ phone coming with an in-built Twitter client, the use of Twitter using a mobile phone will increase. INQ has targeted Social networks and Internet with its phone, which the big wigs have just started doing. Like the Skype phone, the INQ Twitter phone will find many takers as Twitter is a craze these days and what better way to access Twitter than your mobile phone. [Via]

It’s unlocked. It’s sexy. And its media functions are perhaps more central to the identity of this phone than telephony. The Sony Ericsson W955a packs an 8.1 MP camera with stabilization for video and still images. Not only that, but it can actually detect smiles. The software is intuitive and snappy - despite all of the animations, which I found very cool. I’ll be following up soon with some sort of written content to cover any details I might have missed in this hands on. I need a reason to post some pictures taken with this phone anyway.
