The Samsung Omnia HD thats was launched a few days back in India was portrayed as the fastest Omnia HD on the block by Samsung with a 1GHz ARM processor but this notion was busted today by GSM Arena. Thanks folks. The omnia HD that made its way to India is the same Omnia HD with same processing power that was launched in countries across the world. India’s Omnia HD is not different from them. So was this done deliberately by Samsung to drive the sales of Omnia and also to gather media coverage on its launch. I guess so, as Samsung guys added the 420 MHz Digital Sound Processing Chip to that of the 620MHz ARM processor and thus making it a 1GHz Omnia HD. Check out the image below and you will have an idea of what went wrong

I’ve been sitting on the Samsung Mondi for nearly a month now. In that time I’ve played with the device on two occasions. Each time, I wished for WiMAX coverage, and each time I went without. Samsung can hardly be blamed for poor Clearwire service in Portland, so I’ll try not to let it get in the way of my review. But it is difficult to justify the purchase of a mobile product for which there is virtually no data outside of Wi-Fi. Obviously, WiMAX will come into its own one day, but by then I hope there are some better options in terms of the products that will work with 4G. |
