mini_n97_1.jpgThe N97 mini has surfaced again and this time on the FCC website. This is the third time the N97 mini has surfaced. First it was spotted by the guys over at Engadget Mobile, then some retailer was lucky enough to have lot of unreleased Nokia phones and dumb enough to click their picture and post it on Flickr. The Nokia N97 Mini, as the name suggests, is the smaller version of the big N97 without the D-Pad. It will be making its debut at the Nokia World Event in September 2009 along with its siblings, Nokia 5900, Nokia Rover and may be the Nokia 5800i.

While the banding isn’t right for 3G speeds on T-Mobile US, a recent
FCC filing shows the stamp of approval for “Model Number:T-Mobile
Pulse/Pulse/U8220.” I suppose it could be a T-Mo Europe phone to be re-branded for use on another American carrier, but it sure doesn’t look like that’s the direction this is heading. What people are talking most about is the product’s association with (or
alter-ego as) the premier Stateside Huawei Android device we’ve been reading
about for months.

Paul from MoDaCo got his hands on a build of the forthcoming firmware update to HTC’s Hero, and he says the new build takes the Android smartphone “to the next level.” Gone is the lag. Smooth are the flicks between home screens. And that annoying thing where the analog clock updates itself - while you watch - every time it reappears on your display? That’s gone too! mobikwik.jpgRecharging prepaid mobile phones in India has now a days become easy with most of the banks offering online recharge option. But many a times these things just fail to work due to some error or other. To counter this a new service has been started in India called Mobikwik, it lets you recharge your prepaid mobile handset from anywhere in India and it does not matter who your operator is. To make life more easy you can register and recharge your’s as well as your family’s phones. You can also go for bulk one time payment and then keep recharging the phone at one click, recharge using SMS or phone call. If you are one of the laziest of kinds then you can also register and set it up for automatic recharge through a plan called My KwikPlan and best of all if you are one their regular users you also earn free talk time. This is a very convenient service for people who use prepaid cards for their mobile phones and I am sure a lot of people in India use prepaid cards. All the big operators, banks and credit card companies have tied up with Mobikwik and registering on the site is very easy just,

The ever-sharp Ross Miller over at Engadget Mobile found himself a video that’s like the mobile phone version of Reese’s Pieces: iPhone OS and HTC’s Sense UI theme have come together like chocolate and peanut butter thanks to the Jailbroken awesomeness of Justflikwalk, a Redmond Pie deviantART member. No, you won’t get all of Android + Sense’s widget power on your iPhone just by installing the them, but you will get a nifty time/weather widget and a cool quick launch tray, amongst other things. The Samsung Omnia HD thats was launched a few days back in India was portrayed as the fastest Omnia HD on the block by Samsung with a 1GHz ARM processor but this notion was busted today by GSM Arena. Thanks folks. The omnia HD that made its way to India is the same Omnia HD with same processing power that was launched in countries across the world. India’s Omnia HD is not different from them. So was this done deliberately by Samsung to drive the sales of Omnia and also to gather media coverage on its launch. I guess so, as Samsung guys added the 420 MHz Digital Sound Processing Chip to that of the 620MHz ARM processor and thus making it a 1GHz Omnia HD. Check out the image below and you will have an idea of what went wrong :-)
