Everybody is waiting for Nokia new smart phone OS Symbian^3 to come and Nokia is busy slashing its smart phone prices in India. In the last 5 to 6 months, Nokia’s E Series and XpressMusic range of handsets have experienced a significant price drop and Nokia is making these handsets available with attractive offers. Some old N Series handsets like the N79 and the N86 have also experienced a price drop as much as INR 2,000 to 3,000, which is a huge amount in a price sensitive market like India. As a result of this Nokia has also seen jump in their smart phone sales in the last quarter in India as well as over all. Nokia is making sure that it starts building the momentum for its new OS to come, especially after the tough competition its been facing from Apple and RIM. Symbian^3 based devices are likely to be announced in June and will hit the retail stores in Q3 2010.
