Yesterday Motorola let us know that the Atrix 4G would be arriving at “the end of February,” but it turns out that Moto may actually be pushing the device out even earlier. AT&T’s first dual-core Android was just spotted on AmazonWireless priced at a reasonable $149.99 on contract or $599.99 contract-free. It doesn’t stop there, though, as Amazon has slipped a potential launch date in, too: February 11th. That’s certainly earlier than the end of February, but I’m not one to… Read the rest of this entry »

When the Nexus One originally launched on January 5, 2010, it was only compatible with T-Mobile 3G, although an AT&T-compatible model was made available just a couple of months later. Now it appears that the Nexus S is going to follow in the One’s footsteps. The first piece of evidence is a device with the model number GT-I9020A that was just spotted on the Bluetooth SIG’s website. The European Nexus S is the GT-I9020 and T-Mobile’s model is the GT-I9020T, so it stands to reason that the… Read the rest of this entry »

A major advantage that iOS has had on Android since the very beginning is gaming. While Android isn’t quite the gaming platform yet, some big changes are coming and we’re starting to see a lot more focus on that specific sector. I’ve noticed a lot more respectable titles making their way to Market as of late, and even some new developers outing some seriously fun games. I don’t find myself playing games a whole lot on my phone, mainly because they suck up so much juice, but occasionally I will… Read the rest of this entry »

It’s time for another dogfight review! Aaron takes a look at the Motorola CLIQ 2 and the HTC EVO Shift 4G , two devices announced at CES 2011 a few weeks ago. Both have physical QWERTY keyboards, both are running Android 2.2, and both have 5-megapixel cameras. The CLIQ 2 is priced at $99.99, while the EVO Shift 4G is $149.99. They’re both great devices on their respective carriers, so it’s a close call. That said, only one can win the dogfight. Which one will be number… Read the rest of this entry »

Over the past week or so, there have been more leaks surrounding HP/Palm’s upcoming tablets than you can shake a stick at. One of the only things missing from all the reports is exactly what these devices will be known when they hit the market, but that may be because even HP doesn’t know yet. Both “PalmPad” and “TouchPad” have been kicked around, and now HP has filed for the trademarks for three more names that could apply to a tablet: Touchslate, Touchcanvas, Duopad. Luckily, we can also… Read the rest of this entry »

If you’re a light data user on Verizon and want to get in on the $15/150MB plan, you’d better do it quick. A new leak has revealed that Verizon is making some big changes to its data plan lineup, and the 150MB plan is reportedly going to be getting the axe. That leaves smartphone users with one option: the $30 unlimited plan. The source of the leak also claims that the wording for Big Red’s unlimited plan will be changing to “Feature Phones & 3G Smartphones” to separate its upcoming LTE… Read the rest of this entry » |
