Talk of HP’s TouchPad liquidation has littered the Internet this week. The fire sale might prove to work wonders for the failing software platform, but not without leaving a trail of destruction and irate customers in its path. After the sale was originally announced, anxious buyers went nuts, storming every third-party electronics retailers’ websites in search of dirt-cheap TouchPads. Stock of the webOS tablet quickly disappeared and retailers had quite literally no time to react.

Time for the next step the the pre-release life cycle of the HTC Bliss! After we first heard of the device in a simple rumor report, then saw it in the FCC, and most recently spotted it in the wild with Mr. Blurrycam, today some clear photos of the HTC Bliss have finally made their way online. The images show that the Bliss is packing a front-facing camera for all of your video chat and Myspace-esque self-portrait needs, and the folks at XDA.cn that handled the device claim that the phone is… Read the rest of this entry »

Back in the day, BlackBerrys were the phones to have. But with the entrance of the iPhone and hundreds of Android phones, they quickly became the slowest, most underpowered and outdated handsets on the market. High quality QWERTY keyboards were effectively replaced by large, capacitive touchscreens and battery life was traded for high-powered processors. Gone were the days of Research In Motion’s reign.

By now I’m sure we’ve all heard that HTC will be holding a little shindig in London on September 1st where it’ll be showing us all “what’s next.” There’s been a lot of speculation as to exactly what HTC’s got up its sleeve for the event, including devices like the Puccini/Jetstream and Vigor, but a new report from BGR claims that it’ll actually be Windows Phone that’s in the spotlight. The prepaid Android revolution has grown quite a bit over the past few months, and soon Walmart and TracFone’s Straight Talk MVNO will be joining in on the fun with the Samsung Galaxy Precedent. There’s no word yet on hard specs for the Precedent, but the handset does bear more than a passing resemblance to Boost Mobile’s Galaxy Prevail, which features a 3.2-inch display and 2-megapixel camera. Such specs would make sense for the Precedent considering its $149.88 no contract price tag and $45… Read the rest of this entry »

Research In Motion is on the cusp of releasing plenty of new devices, and it looks like the company is getting ready to jump into a brand field. RIM isn’t a stranger to trying new things out – it wasn’t too long ago that they launched their very first tablet device, the BlackBerry PlayBook , after all. Whether or not that really worked out for RIM is up to discussion, and we’re more than likely going to get another shot at another similar conversation sometime in… Read the rest of this entry »

Apple has been on a tirade for the past few months, suing a handful of Android partner manufacturers for anything they feel looks or operates remotely like their iPhone or iPad. When this first began, Apple had a very strong case. The original Galaxy S, despite being larger in height and width, looks strikingly similar to Apple’s popular iPhone. And even the TouchWiz interface has some undeniable similarities to iOS.

Yesterday HP broke the hearts of webOS fans everywhere when it announced that it would “discontinue operations” of all webOS hardware, meaning phones and the TouchPad, in Q4 2011. The pain doesn’t stop there, though, as a leaked AT&T email has emerged today to kick those users in their shins and throw a little dirt in their faces. The email, reportedly sent between members of AT&T management this afternoon, reveals that AT&T has canceled its plans to launch the HP Pre3. Of course, AT&T never… Read the rest of this entry »
