Aaron reviews RIM’s newest device, the BlackBerry Curve 9360 , which is available at T-Mobile now (in black).  It packs an 800 MHz processor, 2.4-inch display (which isn’t a touchscreen), 5-megapixel camera with flash, a full QWERTY keyboard, and BlackBerry 7.  It’s an upgrade from previous Curve devices, but it’s painfully behind its mid-range competitors.  Those that message a lot will like having a physical keyboard, but if media and apps are what you enjoy, you’ll… Read the rest of this entry »

So now that the Amazon Kindle Fire is the real thing, and people are still talking about it around the Internet, it’s time we take a swing at it, together. Let’s start a discussion about the tablet, because that’s what we all do best, right? Discuss. And, to be fair, I think the Amazon Kindle Fire does, indeed, deserve plenty of discussion. As it stands right now, I’m looking back at that article I wrote a few weeks ago, talking about how the Kindle tablet… Read the rest of this entry »

Sure, we’ve seen plenty of photos of the HTC Holiday during its pre-release journey to AT&T’s shelves, but how would you like to see some awesome diagrams of the inside of the phone? No? Well, that’s what we’ve got for you today, along with the news that the Holiday has made its way through the FCC under the moniker “PH39100.” There’s not much new information to be had in the report, although we do get confirmation that the Holiday packs support for the 1700/2100/700 LTE bands. … Read the rest of this entry »

Aaron reviews the Pantech Breakout , Verizon’s first 4G LTE device to be priced under $100.  Packing a 1 GHz single-core processor, 4-inch display, 5-megapixel camera (without flash), front-facing camera, and Android 2.3 with Pantech’s custom UI, it’s not intended to compete with the carrier’s high-end LTE crop, but brings 4G LTE to the masses.  Don’t want to spend $299.99 on a device?  Have no need for a dual-core processor?  This might be the smartphone for… Read the rest of this entry »

This is a battle for the history books, folks. The back-and-forth between Android and iOS is never-ending. ” The iPhone has more apps and it’s pretty .” ” So? My droid has the 4Gs and a kickstand !” The truth is, none of this really matters in the long run. Both platforms have a huge following, which will ultimately cement their stay in the mobile market for at least the next few years.
A recent report from Nielsen unveiled that 56 percent (out of 25,500 surveyed) of new smartphone… Read the rest of this entry »

Smartphones are no longer just a means of communicating, working on the go or playing games; they have become our lifelines. Sure, I could realistically live without my phone. But I would have to change the way I go about my day from the ground up. My phone is always by my side and it has become my do-it-all tool for everything I encounter: taking pictures, paying bills, banking, discovering new locations and much more. As trivial as some of these things may be, they should serve as testaments… Read the rest of this entry »

The HTC Amaze 4G (aka Ruby) has been the star of a number of photo leaks as of late, but the majority of those images showed the international version of the device, meaning that there was no T-Mobile branding to be found. Good news for the Magenta faithful today, though, as the Amaze 4G has surfaced once again bearing a T-Mobile tattoo. The folks at CellPhone Signal have been told that the Amaze 4G will be billed as the successor to the myTouch 4G, which is kind of surprising considering the… Read the rest of this entry »

It’s time for yet another Motorola leak, friends! This time we’re going back to the land of the tablet with details on a device referred to as the Motorola XOOM 2 Media Edition. This new slate is said to be targeting the ereader market with its 8.2-inch HD IPS anti-glare screen and 0.95 pound body, two features that should make the device fairly portable. Don’t think that that means it’ll be flimsy or easily-damaged, though, as Moto is reportedly building the XOOM 2 Media Edition’s body out of… Read the rest of this entry »
