The CTIA 2011 fun continues! Aaron gets some hands-on time with the Motorola Atrix 2 , the successor to the Atrix 4G that was released earlier in the year. Specs-wise, it offers a 1 GHz dual-core TI OMAP processor, 4.3-inch qHD display (without the hotly debated PenTile technology), 8-megapixel camera with 1080p HD video recording capabilities, front-facing camera, and Android 2.3 with Motorola’s custom UI. Late last month Samsung introduced us to the latest member of its Galaxy Tab family, the Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, but the company made no mention of the slate’s U.S. launch date or its price tag. Fast forward to about a week and a half later and we still don’t know much about the former, but the latter is a different story. Today retailer J&R put both the 16GB and 32GB versions of the Tab 7.0 Plus on its website for $399.99 and $499.99, respectively. As of this writing the 16GB model is available… Read the rest of this entry »

AT&T has announced that this was its “most successful iPhone launch” ever, with over 200,000 pre-orders placed within the first 12 hours of availability. Checking out AT&T’s site reveals that any iPhone 4S orders placed today won’t ship… Read the rest of this entry »

The last time we spied the Motorola Admiral, the unannounced device made a brief appearance in an introduction video on Sprint’s official YouTube channel. The clip was quickly yanked as someone noticed the mistake, but the good news is that the Admiral has made a detour to the harbors of Leakland on its way to Sprint once again. There’s not a ton of new information to be gleaned from the images, but the source of the shots does shed some light on how the portrait QWERTY handset handles, saying… Read the rest of this entry »

Earlier today we were treated to some nice, clear screenshots showing off various portions of Android Ice Cream Sandwich and even a video of the upcoming operating system running on a Galaxy Nexus. If that tasty treat isn’t enough to satisfy your appetite on this Friday afternoon, though, we’ve got another ICS-related leak ready for your consumption. First up, we’ve got some screenshots of a new iteration of the Google Music app (version 4.0.1) that the folks at Android Police claim came… Read the rest of this entry »

Late last month saw U.S. Cellular announce that it would be launching three new Android-powered devices — the HTC Hero S , Wildfire S , and Flyer — in October, but the carrier stopped short of saying precisely when during the month the products would be going on sale. Now we can mark one of those devices down on our calendar, though, as U.S. Cellular has confirmed that its Flyer will be available starting tomorrow, October 7th. As far as pricing for the Flyer goes,… Read the rest of this entry »

Last month we learned that LG was prepping two new myTouch devices for T-Mobile thanks to some prematurely uploaded YouTube videos. Now the handsets are back in the news, but this time they’re nice and official. Dubbed the T-Mobile myTouch and T-Mobile myTouch Q, both handsets are manufactured by LG and are aimed at first-time smartphone buyers with several features aimed at making the move to these advanced devices an easy one.
